What is By Hand Artisan Guild?
By Hand Artisan Guild is a membership nonprofit whose mission is to to promote the appreciation, understanding, and awareness of handmade fine art and craft, and to support contemporary American working artists through educational and marketing opportunities, including festivals of exceptional quality.

There are three ways. Exhibiting artist membership, associate artist membership, and community membership.

Exhibiting artist membership is automatic to any artist who has applied to and participated in a By Hand festival within the last year. Our initial group of exhibiting artist members are those who have applied to and participated in at least two years of By Hand shows out of the last three. If you are among those artists, you are already a member and will be recieving a membership letter from us soon. The benefits of exhibiting artist membership are as follows:
- No membership dues or fees
- Voting rights
- Eligible for election to the Artist Advisory Board
- Free subscription to our digital newsletter
- Listing (with imageand link) in our forthcoming online membership directory
- Access to our forthcoming member forum
Associate artist membership - application coming soon
Associate artist membership is dues based, but confers most of the same priveledges of Exhibiting artist membership to those artists who are not participating in our festivals. You must be an American working artist and submit images of your work in order to obtain associate artist membership. The benefits of associate artist membership are as follows:
- Voting rights
- Free subscription to our digital newsletter
- Listing (with imageand link) in our forthcoming online membership directory
- Access to our forthcoming member forum
Community membership - application coming soon
Community membership is a way for patrons and collectors to show their support for the artists of the By Hand Artisan Guild and to make a contribution to artist opportunities for education, development, and marketing. Community membership is tiered, with different packages for different support levels.
